This dataset provides the daily & cumulative number of COVID-19 new confirmed cases, hospitalizations, and deaths among Marin County residents (does not include San Quentin inmates). If a person first tested positive for COVID-19 on 11/1/2020, was admitted to the hospital on 11/15/2020, and died on 11/20/2020, their data would be contained in three rows and all tied back to the original test date of 11/1/2020 (e.g. date for case: 11/1/2020, date for hospitalization: 11/1/2020, date for death: 11/1/2020).
Cases are lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases reported to Marin County Public Health by providers, commercial laboratories, and academic laboratories, including reporting results through the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange. A lab-confirmed case is defined as detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a clinical specimen using a molecular amplification detection test.
