Permanent Housing retention rate in Marin County. Data is updated monthly, starting in July, 2019.
Data is obtained from all agencies in Marin who participate in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), a database mandated by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and several state funding sources. VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)-funded Domestic Violence providers do not use HMIS.
The tabular data has a data column entitled "Permanent Housing Retention Rate." This is the percentage of all people in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) who remain in PSH or move directly to another permanent housing destination, including but not limited to another PSH placement, a subsidized or unsubsidized rental by the client, or moving in with family or friends on a non-temporary basis. The calculation excludes people who pass away in PSH or who exit to foster care, hospitals, or to a long-term care facility or nursing home.
